I've heard this Psalm tons of times, especially when I think of death and funerals...they always seem to read this. I've never really taken the time to look at the Psalm apart from those times until recently I suppose. I guess I didn't realize how beautiful the words were and how much they pertain to not only the hope we have in death but the comfort we find in life through Jesus.

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. ----> all this junk we think we need...we lack nothing!! :)
  He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, -------> sometimes my life is so chaotic and noisy...I love this
  he refreshes my soul. ----> nothing like a good soul refreshin' on a bad day
He guides me along the right paths
   for his name’s sake. -----> I 'm always so worried about my future...am I making the right decisions?? BUT how silly is that when He guides me!
Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me; ------> life can be scary, tough, sad, evil, lonely...but He is with me...no worries
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.-------> sigh!
  You prepare a table before me
   in the presence of my enemies. ----> those enemies got nothin' on me...I will always have a seat at God's table :)
You anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows. ------ I am a chosen child of God....how cool is that?!
 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
   all the days of my life, ------ALL the days of my life :) Love that
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
   forever.-----FOREVER

a must read

I just finished reading this really great book called "The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. The book describes how Richard Stearns got a call to be the President of World Vision and leave his very comfortable life in order to serve God in that way where you need to rely completely on Him to make it through. He talks about the excuses and fears that almost stopped him and then the things he saw once he decided on doing it. The book talks about injustices, political/social/economical gaps between people AND what we, as the body of Christ, could be doing. There are really touching stories about the people he met while in different countries as well as information that will make you think. It's hard for me to explain without re-telling everything so I suggest you read it!! ha.

Tangible Love

Love must be tangible. It cannot be a concept, it can only be demonstrated with action. And until we realize this, we will never see the change we are always talking about.

Remember Archive International??!?!

So I've realized that in half of my blogs I say that I will write about things later and I never do. Well, I thought I'd give a quick update on one I wrote awhile ago. Archive International is officially a non-profit!! Mark has done an amazing job of building up the business plan and dealing with all the paperwork to get to this point. I just get excited about hearing of all that's been done. I think the first place he's going is Puerto Rico. He goes later this year to work on it some. Hopefully it can grow...I already see it in Honduras and Haiti. Ha :)
